Frank (born April 17, 1962, in Pittsburgh) was an American football player who played tight end in the NFL from 1984 to 1988 and earned two Super Bowl rings.

High school & college

He attended Mt. Lebanon High School in Pittsburgh, the same high school Mark Cuban attended.
   As an undergraduate, he played college football at the Ohio State University, where he set a school record for receptions by a tight end (121). All-Big Ten as a junior and senior, Frank ranks 4th on the all-time Ohio State receiving list with 121 catches for 1,481 yards and 9 touchdowns. The receptions and yardage totals are the most in school history by a tight end. He was a 3-year starter, catching a personal high 45 passes in 1981 and again in 1983, still a record total for tight ends. He was voted the team MVP as a senior. In the classroom, Frank was a 2-time Academic All-American and was a Rhodes Scholar nominee as a senior.(External Link)

NFL career

His five-year pro career was spent with the San Francisco 49ers, which he helped lead to victory in Super Bowl XIX and Super Bowl XXIII.
   Frank finished his career in 1988 with a total of 65 receptions for 662 yards and 10 touchdowns.

After the NFL

After retiring from football, Frank earned his M.D. from Ohio State in 1992. He is a board-certified Otolaryngologist and dedicated facial plastic surgeon and hair loss expert in New York.(External Link) In 2002, he co-founded the Israeli Bobsled Team.(External Link) He continues to participate on the team as the brakeman. Hall of Fame

In 1998 Frank was inducted into the Ohio State Athletic Hall of Fame.
